One of the highlights of these early days is getting to know one another and learn what special strengths each person has. I am so excited to see what the year holds for this group of learners.
We continued the hard, but fun, work of building the foundation of our learning community today. We began our day with many, many laughs as we attempted to answer this question: What 10 things does everyone in our group have in common?
First, we divided into randomly selected groups of four. Each group included friends old and new. The only rule for identifying our 10 things in common was that physical traits couldn't be included. Sorry, team, you can't say you are all girls!
We snuck outside to continue establishing the "play hard" portion of our "work hard, play hard" classroom culture. Today we played a fun and simple cooperative ball game called "Kick and Catch."
With a happy heart,
Rachel
P.S. Don't forget our field trip to Ralston Creek tomorrow!
