Project-based Learning
Willowwind Wolves engage in the study of the natural and social sciences through a project-based learning approach. Project-based learning allows students to deeply explore topics and engage in authentic dialog about the world around them. Projects link to the curricular theme of the year and can often span several months. Be sure to check out the examples of projects on the main curriculum page!
Ancient Civilizations Research Projects
The Wolves completed their first major project of 2015 by creating some truly amazing radio shows and interactive books about ancient civilizations. Students became teachers as they presented research findings to their peers. Please enjoy these sample projects!

It is critical for students to continually assess their progress and the quality of their work. Each project will therefore require the class to set deadlines within the larger framework of the project; the class will also create goals and standards for meeting these goals. Students will also have the opportunity to create individual goals. Below is an example of goals created by the class for the National History Day websites and performances.
