Third through sixth grade students are very excited about the upcoming holiday gift exchange! They drew names this week to find out to whom they will be giving. Students met last week to discuss the exchange, have decided to bring a homemade gift each day from Thursday, December 15 through Wednesday, December 21. Each of these should be accompanied by a clue about the gift giver; for example, "I have brown hair." Students also decided to bring a final gift which should cost $5 or less on Wednesday, December 21. Students have completed a survey about their likes and interests to help one another choose thoughtful gifts. Please support your child in preparing their homemade gifts, writing clues, and finding a nice final gift for Friday. Furthermore, please help remind them to be sensitive about the variety of holidays and traditions celebrated at this time of year. If you're not sure about the customs of the child you are giving to, a winter theme may be your safest choice. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
